Get to NoMI – Sydney Cetera, Pastry Cook

Today we introduce NoMI’s sweet treat connoisseur. This lady can be found laminating croissants, spinning ice cream or garnishing desserts, always with a smile on her face that’s as sweet as her delicacies. Introducing Sydney Cetera, Pastry Cook

Syd

Favorite item on the NoMI menu:
Trio of ice cream: Vanilla Bean, Pistachio and Gianduja Swirl. “It’s flavorful, simple and delicious and the perfect treat to cool down in the Summer.”

Favorite Chicago summer activity:
Going to the beach. “It’s not Summer until you get in the Lake!”, says Syd.

Something you might not now about her:
She speaks Hebrew because she went to Jewish grade school and Russian because she studied Languages and Literature in college.

If she could bring anyone to NoMI, who would it be and why:
She would bring Judy Contino, Chef and Owner of Bittersweet Bakery in Chicago, whose shop inspired Syd to pursue pastry. “She gave me my first kitchen job at 14, doing all the prep for the bakery,” Syd says. “I’d love to show her how far I’ve come in pastry.”
